Welcome back to Fix It Friday, everyone! Today, we’re tackling a challenge that every parent faces at some point: organizing the chaotic realms of our kids’ rooms. It’s no secret that children’s spaces can quickly transform from neat to, well, let’s just say ‘creatively cluttered’. But fear not! I’ve gathered some simple and practical storage solutions that can help bring order to the chaos, making life a bit easier for both you and your little ones.
Embrace the Bins and Baskets
One of my go-to strategies for quick tidy-ups is using bins and baskets. They’re perfect for storing toys, books, and even clothes. Label them if you can – pictures for younger kids and words for those who can read. This not only helps keep things organized but also teaches your children about sorting and responsibility.

Utilize Vertical Space
When floor space is limited, think vertical! Shelves, wall-mounted baskets, and hanging organizers can be lifesavers. They’re great for keeping things off the floor and within sight. This way, your kids can easily find what they’re looking for, and you avoid the pain of stepping on a rogue Lego piece!

Repurpose Household Items
You don’t always have to buy new storage solutions. Look around your home for items that can be repurposed. An over-the-door shoe organizer can hold small toys or art supplies, and old jars can be great for storing crayons or pencils.

Make Clean-Up Fun
Turn organizing into a game. Set a timer and challenge your kids to see how much they can tidy up before it rings. You can even make it a regular part of their routine, with small rewards for consistent efforts.
Regular Decluttering
Lastly, regular decluttering is key. Every few months, go through your child’s room with them. Decide what to keep, what to donate, and what’s ready to be retired. This not only keeps the room manageable but also teaches your child about letting go and generosity.

Remember, the goal isn’t to have a picture-perfect room out of a catalog but to create a functional, stress-free space that works for your family. With a little creativity and some simple strategies, you can transform your child’s room into an organized haven.
As always, my friends, enjoy the GLO!
